Hundreds of paper lanterns released into a mountain valley after sunset. Each one carries a written wish. The image you've seen on Pinterest of glowing lanterns rising into a dark sky — this is where they come from.
Practical info
Take TRA train from Taipei to Ruifang, then Pingxi line to Pingxi station. Buy a lantern at any shop on Old Street (NT$200). Best lighting just after sunset.
