Lima, Peru — ranked month by month from data: temperature, rainfall, snow, and peak hazard seasons. The standouts: January, February, March.
About Lima
Lima is the capital and largest city of Peru, as well as a primate city. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín Rivers, in the desert zone of the central coastal part of the country, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The city is considered the political, cultural, financial and commercial center of Peru.
Food capital of South America, no debate. Miraflores and Barranco for walking, Pueblo Libre for the museums. Stick to bottled water; the ceviche is worth the trip.
Each month is scored on temperature comfort (18–27°C avg high is the sweet spot), rainfall (more rain days = lower score), snow days, and peak hazard seasons (hurricanes, monsoons, etc.). Green-tier months are within ideal range with no major issues. Yellow are workable but with trade-offs. Red has at least one significant problem — extreme heat or cold, heavy rain, or peak storm season.
